One to one laptop program
Year Five is known as our ICT juncture year, a year in which students are provided with enhanced technology access in classrooms, with the opportunity to bring your own device as part of our one-to-one laptop program. The one-to-one program is parent funded.
The program is not compulsory.
To participate in the program, parents will need to purchase a device according to the specifications outlined in the BYOx
Charter. The charter includes a detailed overview of the program including:
- Student-owned devices are for the owner's use only
- Devices come to and from school each day
- Devices need to be fully charged when bringing to school each day
- Devices need to be set up at home following the instructions in the charter
- Antivirus needs to be up-to-date at all times
- Students are responsible for caring for their laptops
- The device is mainly for school purposes
- Students to engage in age-appropriate activities only
- The teachers direct the learning that occurs on the laptops
- Students and parents sign an agreement to confirm they will abide by the rules outlined in the charter.
Students who are not participating in the program, will have access to the shared bank of laptops in classrooms.
