Homework is purposeful, out-of-class learning that seeks to enhance the extent to which individual students benefit from their education. It provides an opportunity for students to involve and share their learning with their families, to consolidate work learnt in the classroom and to prepare for lifelong learning beyond the classroom experience.
Homework may consist of reading, speaking tasks, research, sounds / spelling / numeracy revision and preparation for school assessment tasks. We encourage you to discuss and check homework with
your child.
Our main priority is daily reading of a range of texts and materials. Frenchville State School has a Knights Reading Program. Reading may take the form of independent reading, shared reading, listening to reading, reading along with a text, or being read to. Students are encouraged to select a range of fiction and non-fiction books suited to their reading ability for the Reading Knights quest.
The Reading Knights Program further aims to develop positive character qualities and work habits in students such as goal setting, determination and perseverance.
